Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
The governing body and staff of Connaught Junior School are committed to providing a personalised education that brings out the best in every child. We ensure that all pupils have access to a broad and balanced curriculum, differentiated to meet individual needs, and therefore enabling every child to reach their full potential and to develop as caring, confident and committed individuals. Central to this is the inclusion and progress of all children with additional needs; every teacher is a teacher of every child, including those with SEND or other needs.
We are an inclusive school, so if your child has any kind of special educational need, emotional need or disability, please contact the school office to make an appointment so that we can discuss with you how these needs can be met.

The Eikon Charity
The Eikon Charity holds several Parent Webinars throughout the year covering various topics. Our webinars for parents and carers explore ways in which they can support the mental health and wellbeing of their children and young people at home. Combining both theory and practical strategies, the webinars offer a range of accessible ideas for parents to choose from, and to find those that will best suit their family. The webinars last for about an hour with time for questions and answers. The webinars are free to attend and are open to all parents living in Surrey or with children attending school within Surrey.

Understanding how we support children in school
Ordinarily Available Provision (OAP) describes the range of approaches, support, and strategies that may be used within schools to help children belong, learn, and make progress.
Developed in collaboration with Surrey School colleagues, local authority staff, and children, this guidance provides an overview of how support in schools can be shaped through everyday teaching, positive relationships, and inclusive practice. It also outlines how the school may respond when a child needs additional support.
The aim of this guidance is to help the whole school community understand the ways in which children can be supported in school to have positive school experiences and achieve their full potential.

Surrey's SEND Local Offer
If your child has additional needs or disabilities, Surrey's Local Offer website is a trusted source of information, advice, support and opportunities for children and young people with additional needs and disabilities (AND) and their families.
The website brings together a wide range of services and resources in one easy-to-access place, helping families find support quickly and understand what is available locally. Information includes travel and transport, inclusive leisure activities, support for siblings, preparing for adulthood, education, health, finances and much more.
Families can also sign up to the Additional Needs and Disabilities (AND) Newsletter to receive the latest information, support and opportunities directly to their inbox.
