Year 3

Reading

Read at least 5 times before next Monday. Each time you read, find an example of a conjunction e.g. because, although, and Record it in your diary.

Maths

In your blue books, complete your maths questions. Start on base camp or climbing.

Talk

Spellings

Learn your spellings for the following week.

Times Tables

Practise your times tables, as set by your class teacher, on Times Tables Rock Stars at least 5 times.

Class Talks

Your homework over the next two weeks is to write and practise a 5 minute Class Talk entitled ‘My Favourite Book.' These will be presented during the week beginning 21st June but please be ready to present on the Monday. You might choose to bring in cue cards, make a Power Point presentation or bring in props. If you need to do your class talk on a certain day, please speak to your class teacher.

Reading

1) Read at least 5 times this week.

2) Use this SPaG focus and see if you can find examples of these in your reading this week, copy them out in your homework planner to show that you have found them.

Can you find a simile or metaphor or personification in your story?

Simile = a figure of speech involving the comparison of one thing with another thing of a different kind, used to make a description more emphatic or vivid (e.g. as brave as a lion ).

Metaphor = is a figure of speech that is used to make a comparison between two things that aren't alike but do have something in common.

Personification = when you give an animal or object qualities or abilities that only a human can have. Personification is what writers use to bring non-human things to life.

Notes

PE lessons are Tuesdays and Fridays. You may come to school in your PE kit on a Tuesday and Friday. Leavers hoodies can be worn on both days.
