Online Safety
Online Safety
At Connaught Junior School, we believe that the safety of our children is of paramount importance. With smartphones, tablets and other forms of digital technology becoming so widespread in our children’s lives, the issue of online safety is more significant than ever.
This page contains a list of websites that we hope you would find useful if you wish to learn more about keeping your child safe online or if you are concerned about inappropriate use of technology, either by your child or another child. We understand that if an incident occurs outside of school, such as cyber bulling, it can be difficult to know how to seek help. Although our teachers are always willing to give advice, these dedicated organisations have a wealth of knowledge that you may find useful in such situations.
'Leaders are proactive in making sure that pupils know how to keep themselves safe. They are alert to current risks and know their pupils well. They work closely with parents on topics such as e-safety and mental health'. Ofsted March 2022
Papaya
In October, Jennifer Powers came to Connaught from the charity Papaya to talk to TAMAT parents about the potential impact of smartphones on children's mental health and on family life.

She gave our parents strategies for delaying giving their children a smartphone and for families to achieve a healthy balance with technology. It really gave us all pause for thought.
