PSHE, Relationships and Sex Education Consultation

Please read on for details about the PSHE, Relationships and Sex Education consultation

PSHE, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) Consultation

From 2020, it is a statutory requirement that all schools in England and Wales are teaching Relationship and Sex Education as a fundamental part of the curriculum.

As part of implementing the RSE curriculum, schools must consult with the children, parents, staff and governors to ensure there is a general consensus on our approaches to policy and the curriculum content.

At Connaught we have been teaching RSE, as part of our PSHE, for many years.  Our current policy has now been rewritten in line with new guidance.

Connaught will be starting our consultation process on Monday 30th November 2020; the consultation will close on the Monday 14th December 2020.

As part of this consultation, parents, staff and governors, will be asked to read through the following documents and make comments on them. The documents that you are asked to read as part of the consultation will be:

RSE Policy

RSE Policy attachments

Jigsaw LGBQT leaflet

Jigsaw RSHE leaflet

These documents can all be found on the school website.

In order to provide your feedback to this consultation, we would appreciate your completion of the Parent questionnaire.

Many Thanks

Katie Carroll
