Prospective Parents

We always love to welcome visitors to our school, and the children are always very proud to show visitors around.  During the Covid Lockdowns, we created some videos so that parents could get a flavour of our school while they weren't able to come into the school building. Please scroll down to see some quotes from visiting parents.

If you would like to come and have a look around after school, please phone the school office to check the availability of our senior leaders, Miss McGann (Headteacher), Miss Whiting (Deputy Head) or Mrs Sweeney-Gillings (Inclusion Leader). They love showing visitors around our lovely school!

Please see below two videos that will tell you a little bit about our school. There are also some FAQs at the bottom of this page. If you have any questions, or require any further information, please do not hesitate to give us a call on 01276 472489 or email the school office on school@cjs.tamat.org.uk

This first video is a chance to meet our leadership team and see what some of our children have to say. (Please note that some of the senior leaders have now changed.)

The second video is a virtual tour and was filmed when visits to schools were restricted. It does, however, give you an insight into the layout of our school. Enjoy your tour!

QUOTES FROM VISITING PARENTS

What did you like about Connaught?

'I liked the outside space, and the fact there is pottery workshop and a science lab in the pipeline.'

'Staff members were welcoming, we like the outdoor facilities and the playground/play area.'

'The facilities and space are excellent and we received a very warm welcome. My son, who can be shy, happily spoke to the teachers which gave us confidence that he will be happy at the school.'

'Great open spaces with lots of creative use of the outdoors for activity and learning. The classrooms were welcoming with really engaging displays. The Headteacher was welcoming and clearly has high aspirations for the school and a clear vision as well as being down to earth. The other staff members we briefly met were also really friendly and certainly seemed happy.'

'The school flowed well and the whole place seemed really well thought out for the child’s educational experience. I liked the ethos of the school and that it’s teaching good life long habits as part of normal practice. Good motivational approaches for children at different levels of attainment was really encouraging. Loved all the sensory support as part of everyday school life too. I was really impressed!'

'Warm welcome, school tour, informative evening by deputy head, time given by head teacher, Year 3 Head, welcome wave by other staff. We like the Year3 rainforest display, forest school, playground equipment & new golden mile track.'

And from a current parents who came with younger siblings:

'I love everything about Connaught. I like the facilities that are on offer to our children, the way things are taught in school in a fun and informative way. The teaching staff are fantastic.'

'Location. The pride taken in all of the areas of the school. Friendliness of the staff. Safety procedures. The organisation & efficiency when we went into the first lockdown with regard to home learning, something I feedback to all parents when they ask about Connaught.'
