Homework details for week commencing 13th May 2019

Please note that your child is expected to complete all of the homework for their year group, and not choose from the lists below.

Year 3  
Reading Read at least 5 times before next Monday.  Each time you read spot an example of the present perfect tense (e.g. I have watched, they have driven, she has played) and write it in your diary.
Maths Log on to My Maths and complete the activities set on Shape.

Talk Homework

On the playground, what different things could you do to make sure you are showing respect to others?
Spellings Learn your new spellings for the following week. These will be set at the end of the week.
Times Tables Practise your times tables using Times Tables Rock Stars for the following week.  
   
   
Year 4
Reading Each time you read find an example of a determiner. A determiner is a word that goes before a noun and identifies the noun in further detail. E.g. an orange. This car. “This” and “an” would be determiners as they introduce the noun.
Talk Homework

Show respect to others-On the playground, what different things could you do to make sure you are showing respect to others?

Spellings

Learn your new spellings for the following week. These will be set towards the end of the week.

Times Tables Continue to practise your times tables. Your teacher will set you the appropriate timestables on Timestable Rockstars. See if you can beat any of your previous scores and make it on to the Year 4 leaderboard!  
Maths Log on to mymaths.co.uk and complete the activity set by your class teacher. Your login and password should be in your homework diary. 
Class Talks

Home learning for weeks commencing 13th May, 20th May and 3rd June.

Your class talk needs to be about someone that you admire.

Year 5
Reading Read at least 5 times before next Monday.  Try to read a news article either on Newsround or another children’s news site and write a brief comment on what it was about.

Timestables rockstars  - your questions will be based on the 7 times-tables.

Reminders

Equipment: whiteboard pen, blue handwriting pen, ruler, red pen and a pencil.

PE kits in for Thursday.

Water bottles should come in daily.

This week will be our outside learning week due to SATs – if your child would like to bring a small cushion or rug they may bring them to sit on.

Trip to The Lookout Wednesday – Suitable clothing , footwear, a coat and their lunch in their school bag.

 

   
Year 6  
Reading
Read at least 5 times during the week.  Write a comment about what you have read e.g. ‘I was surprised when Harry was angry at Hagrid as they are usually good
friends,’ and make sure your diary is signed by an adult.
Maths

Continue to revise your 3 targets e.g square numbers, prime numbers, angles, rounding ect.

Bring your blue book containing evidence that you have spent 30 minutes revising those areas.

Use the school website for revision materials.

Times Tables
Practice you timestables. Timestables Rockstars is available. Make sure your diary is signed by an adult.
